When it rains, it pours

Have you ever heard that expression "When it rains, it pours"? Pouring would actually not be bad compared to the hurricanes that we experience! Things seemed to be going our way, which should have throw up a red flag immediately, but I thought ok we need something good right about now. We cannot get a loan for a house anytime soon (note: Bullriding+ Bullriding Accidents= lots of money that nobody has and a number of setbacks...for YEARS). A gal Evan works with offered to let us "lease to own" a 6 acre property with a house, barn/shop...the list goes on. So we get things organized, clean out our WHOLE mobile home, and prep to sell it. Evan calls to see when we would need to get together to sign some paperwork and the lady tells us "I spoke with a realtor and they said it would not be a good idea". Rriiight, why would a realtor encourage someone to sell a property on their own? So after the news I, of course, flipped out. In the middle of my episode in the back room we hear, "Hello? Anyone here?" It just happened to be the guy wanting to look at our trailer. He was impressed and offered to buy it. Now what? We couldn't sell it of course or else we wouldn't have anywhere to live. So as the days have gone by I've been slowly pulling boxes out and making trips back and forth to the storage shed to refill our home. Its difficult trying to do anything with two mobile children. A few days ago I went to burn some garbage and see my little dachshund lounging out in the front. I call her and she doesn't move, so I think ok I'm going to throw this little pebble and scare her...nothing. By this point I'm freaking out and run up to her. I'm sure you've guessed it by now, she was dead. GREAT!!! So I had to pull myself together to get her to the vet to find out if she got into poison and what it was so that we could keep our basset hound out of it. Come to find out, she was kicked...KICKED. Some idiot must have felt pretty tough kicking a little dog. I talked to the vet and she said that she would not have lived long enough to travel back from anywhere so whoever did it was close to our home, and it was a person, not a horse. So this week has been a little tough on me trying to reorganize a home for us. Kimi woke up early Wednesday morning at about 2 gasping for air and so we ran her to the ER where they had to give her breathing treatments and steroids to open her throat. She has the croup which can be dangerous if they can't breath. We got home at about 5 am with orders to bring her to our doc today (Friday) but thats not the end of our troubles. No, why would it end there? Our van decides to take a dump on us. The speedometer is out of whack, the battery keeps dying, and we just had to buy an alternator for $225.75!! Our van just decided to do this today, not a gradual thing that signals "fix me" no, all at once when we have no money. Well I'm glad I got that off my back. Now just to note a few happier moments, Kimi is walking and starting to talk. She says momma, peek-a-boo, no, hi, and a couple of other things that I can't remember at the moment. Takara of course is being her usual sass but is taking such good care of her little sister and is such a big girl and is sooo smart. Shes potty trained completely (thank goodness) and has been doing an awesome job with that. Well hopefully I will have more uplifting things to write about in my next post.
